OVERVIEW

 

The New York Physical Therapy Association (NYPTA) Conference is a statewide education event for physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students of physical therapy. Association members and non-members are welcome to attend educational sessions offering up to 13 hours of continuing education credits in two days. In addition to the educational seminars, we offer poster presentations, networking opportunities, and an exhibit hall featuring suppliers from throughout the state and country who have services to offer our profession.

ATTENDEES

   

The vision for the 2019 Conference is to attract nationally recognized speakers that can provide outstanding educational experiences.

 

This year’s research presenter is Dr. Chad Cook, PT, PhD, MBA, FAPTA, Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists, an internationally recognized physical therapist and educator, who is the Chairperson of the Physical Therapy Department at Duke University.

 

An outstanding slate of continuing education courses for practicing clinicians and students have been assembled.  The topics range from business management, to documentation, to using social media to grow your practice.  Clinical courses in pediatrics, geriatrics, cardiopulmonary, and orthopedics will also be presented.  The NYPTA has attracted such dynamic speakers as Dr. Marilyn Moffat, Dr. Karen Kemmis, Dr. Michael Mattia, Dr. Mark Amir, Dr. Ellen Godwin, Dr. Ethel Freese, Dr. Juanita Benedict, and Dr. Brittany Popkin.

Advocacy Workshop

Prior to the start of conference, on Thursday October 17th, 2019 from

2:30 P.M – 6:30 P.M, the workshop will be held to present a combination of lecture,

and lab-based interactive activities that will enable participants to become more
