NYPTA is hosting our Annual Lobby Day on Tuesday May 10th!

This event is open to members & non-members of the NYPTA, and there is no cost.

Lobby Day is an opportunity to tell state legislators how important physical therapy legislation is to your profession, and to your patients.

How does it work?

First, you pre-register online for the event here. Your information will be sent to the Legislative Liaison for the NYPTA District you are associated with. The Legislative Liaisons schedule appointments for all attendees from your area.

Next, you prepare! You can receive 3 CE credits for reviewing a Legislative Presentation and attending Lobby Day. You must view the slideshow online, attend the event, and complete the evaluation. Additionally, talking points will be posted on the NYPTA website that will help you to be prepared to discuss our bills.

Finally, you plan your trip to Albany! Once you arrive at the Legislative Office Building, you meet up with other attendees from your district, and attend your assigned meetings throughout the day. You will speak directly with legislators to tell them how this legislation affects you as a physical therapy professional.

At the end of the day you head home with the satisfaction of knowing you have worked to make a difference in the lives of your patients, your coworkers, and all the students who are just entering the field.

Testimonials from past attendees:

"I was happy to be able to meet with senators and their representatives and discuss issues pertaining to the field that I am passionate about."

"Learning about the legislative process and the impact we can have for our PT profession has prompted me to be more involved in future proceedings."
