Golden Goniometer Contest

Fall is a great time of year for physical therapy!  There's Fall Prevention Awareness Week, National PT Day of Service, and Physical Therapy Month celebrated in October.  These are all big opportunities for physical therapists, physical therapy assistants and students to share information about the importance of our profession.

What are you doing in your community to raise awareness of the impact that physical therapy can have on the health and well-being of consumers?  The NYPTA Marketing & Engagement Committee is challenging all NYPTA districts to participate in the Annual Golden Goniometer Contest.  The district that demonstrates the greatest amount of public awareness activities in September through the end of October will be presented with the 2018 Golden Goniometer award.

These events can be one major event or a variety of activities - they just need to reflect the core values of being a physical therapist or promote the value of physical therapy.  Anyone is welcome to submit an entry.  To enter, please send the following information to Kelly Garceau at: by November 16, 2018.  Your submission should include:

  1. Your name
  2. Your district
  3. A written summary of activities of the event you participated in (include: name of the organization, your role and/or the role of the team, date/time of the event and list of participants)
  4. Outline how the event was promoted (ex. social media posts)
  5. Provide photos of the event/promotions/participants in your activity

Good Luck!
