Core Without Nonsense: Feldenkrais Perspectives on Stability and Core Training

Many health professionals struggle with today’s conflicting philosophies about core strengthening. On one hand, a robust body of scientific research has documented the role of core muscles in increasing the stability of the lumbar spine, and improving patient rehabilitation outcomes. On the other hand, many researchers, medical professionals, coaches and exercise specialists have legitimate concerns about the concept of core strengthening.

In this workshop you will:

Learn new techniques to enhance recruitment of “hard-to-feel” and “diffcult-to-access” muscles like transversus abdominis, diaphragm, multifidus or gluteus medius.

Learn an approach that facilitates good core control without interfering with ease of breath or initiation of movements.

Understand the three subsystems responsible for dynamic stability (passive, active and neural).

Bring yourself up-to-date with current research about core and stability.
