Course Title: Shoulder Anatomy & Common Injuries

course description:

Hands on cadaveric review of shoulder anatomy. Participants need to wear anatomy lab attire (scrubs preferable)


Course is open to PTs, PTAs, PT Students and PTA Students

Presenter #1: Christina Fojas, PhD - Assistant Professor, Director of Gross Anatomy Lab, Marist Doctor of Physical Therapy Program

Christina Fojas joined the Marist faculty in 2016. Trained as a biological anthropologist, Dr. Fojas has worked with the Office of Chief Medical Examiner of New York to identify victims from September 11, 2001, conducted archaeological fieldwork in Sudan, and trained Evidence Response Team members from the FBI on recovery techniques to locate and excavate clandestine graves. She has participated in the outdoor recovery and laboratory analysis of over 20 forensic cases in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Prior to Marist, Dr. Fojas was a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. At Marist, she is the Director of the Gross Anatomy Laboratory, teaching gross anatomy to Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant graduate students and anatomy and anthropology classes to undergraduates.


Presenter #2: Yvonne Egitto, PT, DPT - Clinical Assistant Professor, Marist DPT Program Lab assistant for Gross Anatomy

Yvonne Egitto spent over thirty years as a practicing clinician before joining the faculty at Marist.  She is a trained NDT therapist.  Yvonne has undergraduate degrees in both biochemistry and physical therapy.  She has assisted Dr. Fojas in the Gross Anatomy Lab for the past 2 years.
