The New York Downstate Regional Student Conclave is an opportunity to meet with students from other PT/PTA programs in New York, make valuable contacts with experts in their respected fields, and learn about topics outside the scope of typical classroom education.

REGISTRATION is free for APTA members. For non-members there is a fee of $10 which will be collected at the registration table. Checks can be made out to SHTM PT FUND. For those who opt to take our chartered bus, non-refundable payment will be due by mail by November 1.

Transportation to WANG CENTER at Stony Brook University
If traveling from NYC or west, the most convenient method of transportation will be via charter bus.  If coming from east of NYC the best method of transportation is by car.

Bus from Penn Station:
Stony Brook University will be providing a coach bus for a cost of $10 round trip from Penn Station to Stony Brook if there is enough interest.  Please mark the appropriate area of the registration form if you are interested in bus transportation.  If there is sufficient interest in the bus, a non-refundable $10 fee will be due by mail by November 1.

Notification of bus availability will be posted after October 20, 2007 – do not mail checks until bus availability has been posted and confirmed.

Train:
Take the Long Island Railroad Port Jefferson line from Penn Station in Manhattan to Stony Brook. The LIRR station is at the north end of the campus; bus service to the west campus Administration Bus Stop is provided. WANG CENTER is across from the Administration Building. Trains to and from Penn Station generally require transfers at Jamaica or Huntington. Hicksville is also a transfer point on some lines. Travel time is approximately 2 hours each way.  Round trip off peak fee is $19. For Saturday, November 10th, trains leaving Penn Station at 6:06 am arrive in Stony Brook at 7:38 am.  The next train departs at 7:37 am, arriving in Stony Brook at 9:28 am, followed by a 9:06 am train arriving at 10:56 am.

Car:
Take the Long Island Expressway (LIE, I-495) to exit 62 north, and follow Nicolls Road (Route 97) north for 9 miles. Take the second entrance on the Left into the University.  Drive straight through the light into the administrative parking garage (parking is free on weekends).  WANG CENTER is across from the Administration Building.
