The Practice Committee
The purpose of the Practice Committee is to describe and analyze the practice and delivery of physical therapy in the State of New York; to be responsive to charges from the Board of Directors and/or the Executive Committee regarding the Chapter's plans, guidelines, policies and other documents that relate to physical therapy practice, including Quality Assurance, Peer Review, identifying educational needs relating to practice and updating appropriate manuals; to identify and be a resource for data and information required by staff to respond to external organizations or other Chapter committees; to respond to the Executive Committee and/or Board of Directors' charges that attempt to promote professional values and optimize physical therapy practice under current and future health care models. It is accountable to the Board of Directors, and consists of a chairperson and three members. The vice president is an ex-officio member. In addition to being a member in good standing of the New York Physical Therapy Association, Practice Committee members must also have a general working knowledge of issues of practice in New York state and previous participation in Chapter and/or District activities.
