Executive Director



Kelly Garceau

Kelly Garceau currently serves as the Executive Director for the New York Physical Therapy Association. Prior to being promoted to this position, she served as the Assistant Director. She started working for the NYPTA in October of 2008 as the Reimbursement Director on a per diem basis. In November, 2009, Kelly joined the staff of the New York Chapter full time. She is an advocate for physical therapists in New York -- addressing issues of reimbursement, legislation and increasing awareness of physical therapy and the challenges PTs face in the areas of payment, insurance company policies, state regulations and access for patients to physical therapy, as well as overseeing all aspects of the Chapter’s day-to-day operations.

Kelly began her career in the health benefits arena with the CSEA Employee Benefit Fund. She is an accomplished health benefits manager/administrator with a track record of more than 12 years building and maintaining internal/external relationships to secure milestone achievements in the benefits arena.

Kelly is the staff Liaison to Advisory Panel on Legislation, Advisory Payment Panel, Executive Committee and Board of Directors.

MEETINGs, marketing & membership manager



Carla Rosenbaum, CMP


Carla Rosenbaum was promoted in January 2017 to serve as the Meetings, Marketing & Membership Manager. In this position Carla will focus on growing the association's membership and market reach through the coordinated efforts of marketing and events. Prior to taking on this position, Carla had been the Association's Meeting Planner, beginning in April of 2013. Carla's current duties comprise coordinating chapter events, engaging current members, and developing new membership initiatives, as well as marketing and branding strategies. Carla also manages all social media platforms for the NYPTA, to keep our followers engaged and up to date on association business, healthcare, wellness, and legislation.

 

Prior to joining the NYPTA, Carla worked at an Association Management firm in Albany. Carla has a bachelor’s degree in communications from the State University of New York at Geneseo. In 2016 Carla obtained the Certified Meeting Professional designation, a globally recognized credential in the meetings industry.


Carla is the staff liaison to the Program, Public Relations and Membership Committees.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT



Kate Teidman

Kate Teidman joined the NYPTA team in April of 2014 as an administrative assistant. She has worked in administrative departments for over 3 years and her duties included customer service, sales, and accounting. 

Ms. Teidman enjoyed the opportunities she was given to work in different areas and is thankful that those skills helped her obtain the position at NYPTA. Kate takes pride in her work and is always organized and detail oriented. 

Kate is the staff Liaison to the Awards Committee and the Leadership Committee.  She is also responsible for the distribution of the contact hour certificates.

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

 

Gloria Baker

 

Gloria Baker joined the New York Physical Therapy Association in May of 2016 as Communications Manager.  As Communications Manager, Gloria will manage, create, implement and oversee all internal and external communications programs that effectively describe and promote the benefits and value of the NYPTA and its members.

 

In her role, she will be responsible for the overall production of the bi-monthly digital newsletter, website management and content development/updates, marketing collateral material, news releases, and future brand development strategies and updating the membership database.

 

Gloria has held marketing & communications positions in both the non-profit and for-profit sector, and has worked for major advertising firms in Atlanta, Boston and NYC.  Prior to joining the NYPTA, Gloria implemented all communications, marketing and member engagement strategies at SUNY Polytechnic – Children’s Museum of Science & Technology.

 

Gloria is the staff liaison to the Public Relations Committee.
