Open Style Lab (OSL) creates functional, stylish apparel for people with disabilities. OSL will be running an intense 10-week, multidisciplinary summer program from June 9 – August 12, 2017. OSL recognizes that finding clothing that fits, and dressing independently is a daily challenge for people with disabilities. The purpose of this program is to increase the social participation of people with diverse abilities by creating innovative and accessible apparel.
OSL is looking for clients to work with teams to help create a clothing solution with and for a client with a disability. Past client conditions include spinal cord injury or damage, incomplete quadriplegia, Guillain-Barre syndrome, orthosis for children, severe arthritis, below-the elbow amputation, below-the-knee amputation, and autism, to name a few.
The program will take place at The New School, Parson School of Design in New York City.
Registration Deadline is: Saturday, April 8, 2017.
