Adam Philips Rufa, PT, DPT, OCS has been selected by the New York Physical Therapy Association (NYPTA) as a recipient of the Emerging Leader Award. The Emerging Leader Award was established to annually honor individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary service to the profession and The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) early in their careers. Below is an excerpt of what the NYPTA leadership had to say about Dr. Rufa’s abilities and accomplishments:
“Adam began his involvement in the Chapter by service as a Central District nominating Committee member. Since that time, Adam has served in many Chapter leadership roles including Delegate to the Chapter Assembly, Advisory Panel on legislation member, district legislation liaison, research liaison, Central District Co-chair and member of the PT Scope of Practice Task Force. At the National level, he has served as delegate to the APTA House of Delegates, Faculty Liaison to the Student Assembly and APTA Clinical Reasoning Research Group. As Adam’s involvement demonstrates, he is an enthusiastic physical therapist with a passion for the profession, and it is for these reasons that we are happy and proud to nominate Adam for the Emerging Leader Award.”
The New York Physical Therapy Association (NYPTA) is a non-profit professional organization composed of approximately 5,000 licensed physical therapists (PTs), physical therapist assistants (PTAs) and PT/PTA students.
