For the 4th year in a row, NYPTA has received a Community Awareness grant from APTA.The $2000 received for 2015 is earmarked to help pay the subscription price for marketing software called Vocus.Vocus is helping us monitor our campaigns and initiatives.The individual components of a campaign are tracked with Vocus to give us an overall view of the success of the campaign.As an example, we are using Vocus right now to track our Falls prevention awareness campaign.Our campaign includes social media, press releases and emails.At the end of the campaign we can tally the numbers to see how we did.
Using the grant money in conjunction with funds from the chapter over the past four years, the New York Physical Therapy Association (NYPTA) has worked hard to promote physical therapy.A course for consumers was held in 2011 during the chapter conference held in Rye Brook, NY.We aired the APTA paint/golf commercial in 10 movie theaters across the state in July, 2012.In 2013 and 2014, we distributed press releases thru NAPS and started an on-line ad campaign that coincided with Physical Therapy Month, and again with the legislative season.The 2014 on-line ad campaign starts October 1st and will be displayed on newyorktimes.com and usatoday.com.It will again be geo-targeted by IP address to NY users.

The New York Physical Therapy Association (NYPTA) is a non-profit professional organization composed of approximately 5,000 licensed physical therapists (PTs), physical therapist assistants (PTAs) and PT/PTA students. The NYPTA is dedicated to serving the public's health interests, improving the standard of health for people of all ages, and advancing the interests of physical therapists in the State of New York.
