Our warmest congratulations go out to Jake McPherson, NYPTA Western District Director and Chair of the Advisory Panel on Legislation, for being named this year’s recipient of the 2014 APTA Emerging Leader Award.
The Emerging Leader Award was established to annually honor individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary service to the profession and APTA early in their careers. Jake's involvement in the Chapter began when he attended the Leadership Development Workshop and served as a Student Delegate to the Delegate Assembly in 2009. During his tenure, he has served on various task forces, boards, assemblies, House of Delegates, forums and committees. He served on the APTA Student Assembly Board of Directors and assumed the role of Western District Chair for three years following graduation. He has also served as a member of NYPTA's Advisory Panel on Legislation. He was elected to the NYPTA Board of Directors in 2014 and has represented the Chapter at APTA's House of Delegates as a Chapter delegate for the past three years.
Congratulations, Jake, on this well-deserved recognition.
