Call for Applications
The New York Physical Therapy Association invites applications for the 2010 Research Designated Fund. The fund is designated to facilitate clinical research in physical therapy by providing a mechanism for investigators to collect pilot data to support the development of larger, more comprehensive research proposals. Studies that examine the efficacy of physical therapy interventions are encouraged.

Eligibility
The principal investigator must be an active member of the APTA, be licensed to practice physical therapy in the state of New York, and maintain an active New York State Education Department registration. Pre-professional (entry-level) students are ineligible to apply.
Award
Priority will be given to projects that are designed to develop pilot data for the purposes of enhancing the competitiveness of a larger proposal that is planned to be submitted by the applicant to a government or foundation funding source.
Application Deadline
Applications for the Research Designated Fund can be obtained from the NYPTA website and must be returned electronically to the Chapter office by February 27, 2010 at 5 p.m. Applications are to be emailed to Bibiana Braun at research@nypta.org with the subject line RDF Application from (your name). If you do not receive a receipt message within 24 hours please contact Bibiana Braun at the NYPTA office. There will be no exceptions to this deadline.
Please note: The principal investigator listed on the application form will be issued a 1099 tax form for the year the award was received. A principal investigator can request that the award check be written to his or her institution but must complete the appropriate section of the application form. An authorized signature from the institution is required in this instance.
