HAITIAN RELIEF - NYPTA WILL MATCH YOUR DONATION

The devastating effects of the earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12, 2010 continue to take their toll on the people living there.  As physical therapists, it especially hits close to home when we see that hundreds of Haitians have had to have limbs amputated, making an already difficult life even harder.  They now need to have the ability to receive the follow-up care and rehabilitation required to live as independently and productively as possible.

In an effort to support that, the New York Physical Therapy Association's Board of Directors, at their January 30, 2010 meeting, voted to ask you, the NYPTA membership, for donations for Haitian relief.  All donations will be given to Hôpital Albert Schweitzer, a local medical facility that is caring for many of the earthquake victims.  In addition to whatever donations we receive, the NYPTA Chapter will match that amount up to $5,000.

If you would like to make a donation, please send a check or money order made payable to the Hôpital Albert Schweitzer, to the Chapter office no later than March 15, 2010.
