Title: Angular Joint Mobilization® - Extremity I
(A New Concept of Joint Mobilization)
Have you ever questioned why we glide linearly on our peripheral joints (rotatory movement joints) when we perform joint mobilization? Current joint mobilization is translatoric(linear) gliding technique performed on a rotary motion joint(movement around an axis) based on Kalternborn’s Gliding impairment theory.
Angular Joint Mobilization® is a rotary joint mobilization technique with translatoric joint shift based on Dr. Kim’s theory “Impaired rotation with possible joint axis shift impairment” that follows joint biomechanics, and not like the traditional translatoric joint mobilization technique.
In this class, participants will learn joint biomechanics, controversy of Kaltenborn’s Convex-Concave rule, controversy of translatoric joint mobilization, concept of Angular Joint Mobilization®, and application of Angular Joint Mobilization®.
