Registering for this event is a multi-step process. In order to assist you in your registration, we have included step by step instructions below.


1. Complete the online registration form (by clicking the register button above).

2. Download the blank dossier form (using the link that is provided on the registration page).

3. Next, you will receive an email with a link to submit your completed dossier.

4. Submit your completed dossier at the link, within 4 days of completing your registration

5. Receive notification that you are approved for the course. 

6. Mail payment check to NYPTA Chapter Office, to be received by January 12th. 

Event Information: 

Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program for Enhancing Clinical Instructor Skills

Course Description: 

The Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program (CCIP) provides clinicians with the skills and information necessary to provide a structured learning environment and enhanced educational experience for students. Course content reflects an interdisciplinary approach to experiential learning methods, with an emphasis on didactic content related to clinical teaching, supervision, and evaluation. Successful course participants will return to their clinic with a greater understanding of: 

Planning and preparing for health care clinical education experiences
Supportive learning through questioning and effective feedback
Identifying and implementing performance evaluation metrics
Managing students with exceptional situations or circumstances
Exploring legal implications for clinical educators, including issues presented by ADA legislation

Physical therapists and physical therapist assistants who successfully complete this course will receive a credential, which verifies their status as an APTA-Credentialed Clinical Instructor (CI), as well as 1.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) which may be used to satisfy licensure renewal requirements.


Speaker Bio: 

J.J. Mowder-Tinney PT, PhD, NCS, C/NDT, CSRS, CEEAA received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder and her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from University of Miami in Florida. She completed her doctorate in physical therapy at NOVA Southeastern University.   She is an Associate Professor at Nazareth College.  She is certified as a clinical specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS).  She received her Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist (CSRS) from the American Stroke Association and her Certified Exercise Expert in Aging Adults from the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy.  She conducts nationwide seminars on the Treatment of Patients with Neurological deficits, Spinal cord injuries, Balance Challenges, and Parkinsons Disease. She has been a CCIP trainer for almost 10 years.

APTA Member: $90

Non-Member: $180 
Other medical professionals: $230


Checks must be received in the NYPTA *chapter office by January 12th, 2018. Checks should be made out to NYPTA Eastern District. In the memo line, please write "Eastern CCIP", and if you are an APTA member also include your APTA ID # in the memo line. 


APTA requires advance notification to obtain course materials. Enrollment in this program is limited, so please register early. Fee includes CI Education Manual, Continuing Education Unit Certificate (16 contact hours) and registry in database (for all who pass this course).

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation requests must be received by January 12th, and must be in writing. They must be sent to the district event coordinator at (EasternDistrict@NYPTA.org) for approval. After this date, no refunds will be given.
