The purpose of the Ethics Committee is to serve as a resource and provide guidance to members on issues relating to the ethical practice of physical therapy and to participate in the investigation of all complaints of violations of the Code of Ethics. The committee is accountable to Board of Directors, Delegate Assembly and Executive Committee and consists of three members plus the Vice President as an ex-officio member. The Chairperson is appointed by the Executive Committee. Anyone interested in the committee should be familiar with the Procedural Document on Disciplinary Action of the APTA; Code of Ethics; Guide for Professional Conduct; Standards of Ethical Conduct for the Physical Therapist Assistant; Guide for Conduct of the Affiliate Member; Standards of Practice of the APTA; and Physical Therapy and Physical Therapist Assistant Handbook for New York State.
