CEU/NYSCEPT (New York Society for Continuing Education in Physical Therapy)

Course Sponsors
Accreditation for CEU's:
- The course must related in some way to the practice of physical therapy. As the physical profession expands its scope, the educational needs of the physical therapist continues to expand.
- Application must be fully completed and returned to NYSCEPT review committee.
- Application must be accompanied by
a. The course brochure
b. A condensed CV of the course presenter(s), if not on the brochure.
c. A detailed course schedule which defines the topics and their scheduled times, lunch and am and pm breaks.
d. The evaluation tooled used for course participants give feedback to the sponsor.
e. A check made out to NYSCEPT for $40.
Course approval is good for one year. The course may be repeated any number of times within that year. If the course will occur again after a year, the application must be filed again, including any changes, and another check must be submitted.
Application should be made at least 45 days prior to date of course.

New Graduates
Applying for a Continuing Education course scholarship grant:
NYSCEPT will award scholarships for 75% of course registration fees up to a maximum of $300. No more than two scholarships will be awarded to any one individual. Note: NYPTA Conference is considered to be a continuing education course.
To qualify for a scholarship:
- Candidates must provide proof of having been graduated from an APTA-accredited physical therapy program during the 12 months preceding the course offering,
- Provide proof of current membership in APTA or Council of Licensed Physiotherapists.
- Apply to NYSCEPT, in writing, requesting the scholarship in order to offset the registration costs. Note: scholarships cannot be granted if employer is paying all or part of the cost of the registration.
- Course must be NYSCEPT approved. NYSCEPT will not provide scholarships to courses that that not been granted CEU's via NYSCEPT. If course sponsor has not made application to NYSCEPT, the graduate may suggest this to the course sponsor.
- Send a course brochure that includes the name of the course, the sponsor, the date and the cost of the course and number of NYSCEPT CEU's approved.
After application has been received and reviewed, applicant will be notified of the scholarship award.
Upon completion of the course, applicant should send a copy of confirmation of attendance and copy of check or credit card statement as proof of payment.
A check will then be issued to the applicant.
