A note from Mark Howard, PT, DPT, OCS
Dear Western District:
As of April 2nd, 2008, I have resigned my position as your District Chairperson. I have agreed to accept the role of Corresponding Secretary, thereby allowing me to further promote the development of the newsletter and other means of communication with the District. Corey Simon has agreed to step up to the Chair position, and his previous position as Vice-Chair has been accepted by Terri Kolodziej. Corey and Terri have both given a great deal of time and effort to the District during my tenure, and they will undoubtedly rise to the challenge of their new positions. These positions will be officially voted upon during the April District Meeting. In the meantime, I want to thank those who have assisted and guided me during the past few years, and encourage those who are “waiting in the wings” to get involved in the efforts of the District. Corey has forwarded a letter announcing the upcoming April meeting. As you will see, this is a critical time for us as a profession. Never before have we faced such a multitude of issues, threatening our viability, not just as individuals, but as a profession. Now is the time to make your voice heard. We, as District leaders, are your voice at the State and National level. Our voice becomes louder and more powerful with every individual that speaks out. Take the time to support Corey, Terri, and the rest of the District as they work to preserve your profession. Before you ask what the District has done for you, take a moment to ask what you have done for your District. JFK’s famous words are every bit as relevant now, as they were when he first spoke them.
Sincerely,
Mark Howard, PT, DPT, OCS
