The Orthopedic Study Group (OSG) of the Hudson Valley District has been active since the fall of 1994. The group discusses a wide range of issues pertinent to Orthopedic physical therapy. Currently, the OSG is open to both District members and non-members.

The orthopedic study group is a group of physical therapists and physical therapist assistants that meet once a month to share ideas, exchange information and practice techniques. The OSG is a participatory group that expects each member to provide one presentation to the rest of the group.

No meeting scheduled at this time.  Please contact Beth Duggan at the above phone numbers or email address for further information.

PEDIATRIC STUDY GROUP
Chairperson: Linda H. Fuller, PT, PCS

The Pediatric Study Group is organized as a group discussion, where everybody comes with some information to share on the topic, with a moderator leading the discussion. That is why there are no "speakers" listed next to the topic listed. Linda Fuller, via e-mail, organizes the meeting so that there are therapists with differing ideas, etc. at each meeting.

All meetings will be held at 7:30 pm.

CLINICAL RESEARCH STUDY GROUP
Chairperson: Michael Majsak, PT, EdD

A number of physical therapists have expressed an interest in establishing a Clinical Research Study Group (CRSG). The focus of this group would include those activities typically associated with a Journal Club (critical review and discussion of professional literature) but would have the additional objective of promoting and supporting clinical research efforts and scholarship within the Hudson Valley District. Students and novice researchers are welcome to participate, as well as more experienced scholars. AN ACTIVE RESEARCH AGENDA IS NOT NECESSARY. The generation of research ideas, peer review, advisement, and mentorship will be important components of the CRSG. The goals of the CRSG will be the systematic collection of clinical data, sound research activity, and ultimately, the generation of posters and publications for professional conferences and journals. The CRSG is intended to provide a professional support structure for scholarship within the Hudson Valley District. If you would like to participate in a Clinical Research Study Group, contact Michael Majsak at Michael_Majsak@nymc.edu.

If you are interested in helping to establish other study groups within the Hudson Valley District, contact Michael Majsak at: Michael_Majsak@nymc.edu
