Executive Committee Meeting
August 9, 2007

Those in attendance: Mary Alice Minor, Amanda Straney, Sue Yenoli. Dana Olzenak, Karen Kemmis, Stacey Ziegler, Kelly Kowalzyk and Anne Marie Abt

The meeting was held at the Samaritan Health Center in Watertown, NY and convened at 5:15 pm.

1. The agenda was distributed and approved.
2. Minutes from the Executive Committee meeting of June 7, 2007 were approved.
3. Announcements:
   1. New members have joined the District and it was suggested that they be welcomed in some way.  Dana Olzenak pointed out that her most recent membership roster may not include all new members because the Chapter does not send out regular updates.
4. Reports:
             
   1. Director report: Jill Dungey absent.  No report.
   2. Co-Chair: Mary Alice Minor:  shared the letter that she received acknowledging the purchase of a business ad in the Celebration of Diversity: Commitment for the 21st Century souvenir booklet.
   3. Website: the minutes from the Executive Committee and membership meetings are being posted.  Anne Marie Abt is sending them to Chapter for posting.
   4. Mary Alice Minor received a phone call from Carol Recker-Hughes at Upstate Medical University asking the District to consider changing the 9/13/07 meeting topic on DPT students.  She will be presenting similar information to clinical instructors shortly after the membership meeting. The Executive Committee discussed this suggestion and decided that the general membership meeting on 9/13/07 will be switched to Utica to make up for the necessary switch of the 7/26/07 meeting to Syracuse to accommodate Dr. Moffet’s presentation, but the topic will remain the same.  Mary Alice Minor will contact Carol Recker-Hughes with the decision.
   5. November meeting:  The meeting will be held in Syracuse.  There was a discussion about the topic.  The Committee recommended that Jim Dunlevey be contacted to see if he is available to present on reimbursement.  Mary Alice will contact him.  Anne Marie Abt will make arrangements for the meeting and refreshments.
   6. Co-Chair: Amanda Straney:  Amanda reported that the July 26, 2007 membership meeting in Syracuse was well-attended and received.
   7. Nominating Committee: Stacey Ziegler:  Stacey presented three motions regarding balloting and election procedures.  Article V, Section 5, Article XII, Section 2 and Article VI, Section 3 were discussed and passed.  Anne Marie Abt will contact Stacey for copies to be posted on the Central District website.
   8. Treasurer: Molly Crist:  Molly was absent but communicated to Mary Alice that the balance in the Central District account is $5488.00.  Mary Alice added that the cost of the food and drinks for this meeting would be about $165.00.
   9. Recording Secretary: Anne Marie Abt:  Anne Marie has been in contact with Bibiana at the Chapter and she will be sending all minutes to her for posting on the Central District website.
5. New Business: 
   1. PT Month Activities: There was consensus that the different regions of the Central District will focus and plan PT month activities on obesity.  Each region will be responsible for coordinating their programs and recruiting volunteers.
   2. Discussion on delegates to the Delegate Assembly: It was recommended that the District would recommend having those members who are already delegates continue and that the elected officers of the District be asked to be delegates.  The additional positions could be asked from the Nominating Committee or recommended by the Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee meeting was adjourned at 6:00 pm.
