Finance

The purpose of the Finance Committee is to prepare the Chapter budget and to advise the Board on matters pertaining to the Chapter's financial program. It is accountable directly to the Board of Directors and ultimately to the Delegate Assembly, and consists of the treasurer as chairman and at least three additional members appointed by the Board. The president is an ex-officio member.

Judicial/Reference

The purpose of the Judicial/Reference Committee is to periodically review Chapter and District bylaws; to provide counsel to the Speaker of the Assembly in ordering business of the Assembly; to receive and correlate all main motions and resolutions to be presented to the Delegate Assembly; to serve as the Chapter Reference Committee; and to provide counsel and advice to presenters of resolutions and motions to insure proper form and working. It is accountable to the Board of Directors, Delegate Assembly, and Executive Committee, and consists of three members plus the Speaker of the Assembly as an ex officio member. The chairperson is appointed by the Executive Committee. In addition to being an active member of the NYPTA, members of the Judicial/Reference Committee should also be familiar with the procedures of the Delegate Assembly and the bylaws of the Association, Chapter and Districts.

Minority Affairs

The purpose of the Minority Affairs Committee is to assist public relations efforts targeting minority physical therapists and physical therapist assistants to be Association members; assist in recruiting minority NYPTA members for leadership roles; and to work with the Minority Affairs Department of APTA to serve as NYPTA's conduit to help recruit minority students into physical therapist and physical therapist assistant roles. It is accountable to the Board of Directors, and consists of three members and the vice president as ex-officio member. The chairperson is an active minority member appointed by the Executive Committee.

Program

The purpose of the Program Committee is to develop policies and procedures regarding the planning, implementation and operation of continuing education; and to assist the Chapter office in planning, implementation and operation of the continuing education. It is accountable to the Board of Directors, and it consists of no more than five members. In addition, the vice president serves as an ex-officio member. The chairperson is appointed by the Executive Committee.

Public Relations

The purpose of the Public Relations Committee is to keep NY physical therapists and physical therapist assistants aware of the activities of the New York Physical Therapy Association and of the benefits of belonging to the Association. The Committee will also educate the public, legislators, regulators and other health care professionals about the profession of Physical Therapy, the education required and the benefits of using the services of a physical therapist.
