Read on for some hints.

The Adobe Acrobat format for presenting documents online is very useful, as it allows text and graphics to be incorporated into a single electronic document — and the software to read the document is distributed free of charge. However, printing only parts of a PDF file has proven to be confusing for many people. Here are some hints on printing from Adobe Acrobat (PDF) documents:
  • Hint 1: Page Numbers May Not Match
The page number of the PDF file may not match the page number of the document. The PDF file starts at page one and counts up. Many documents have a table of contents or other pages that are denoted in roman numerals that precede "Page One"of the document.

  • Hint 2: The Print Dialog Box
Within a document, use the File menu and select Print to bring up the print dialog box. The print dialog box has a "Print Range" section that allows you to print all the pages, just the current page, or a range of pages, where you specify the starting and ending page number.

  • Hint 3: The Text Select Tool
Within the PDF document, you can select the "Text Select Tool" (the button with a "T") to highlight and copy paragraphs from the document, then paste them into your own document. This allows you to create your own custom Microsoft Word or other document that contains only the information you wish to include.
