The purpose of the Research Committee is the collection, evaluation and selection of platform or poster research and special interest presentations for the Annual Conference; the selection of the Robert S. Salant Awards for the best research and special-interest presentations; the evaluation of applications/proposals for the Research Fund and recommendation of recipient(s) of monies from the fund; the provision of consultation to Chapter members in the clinical or academic communities who request assistance or advisement with research activities; and to facilitate clinical research in physical therapy throughout the state. The Research Committee is accountable to Board of Directors and consists of three members. The Vice President is an ex-officio member. The Chairperson is appointed by the Executive Committee. Anyone interested in this committee must demonstrate a willingness to devote time to the facilitation of PT research and a documented background in research (especially clinical applicable research) including presentation and publication. Doctorally prepared candidates should be given priority when possible.

Call for Applications

On January 20, 2007 the Board of Directors of the NYPTA passed a motion to raise the Research Designated Fund award to $3000.00!

Chapter funds are available for research.

Robert Salant Awards

A Robert Salant Award in the amount of $100.00 will be preseented to the authors of the outstanding abstract in each of three categories.
